Work in Progress - Little Ark and Cradle
We’ve been quietly building something exciting… well, actually, two things.
Cradle – a deep civilization-style board game for seasoned strategists and
Little Ark — a family-friendly re-imagining of Ark: Awakening.
Both are coming to life — and coming to crowdfunding later this year. Let me tell you more about each one.
Cradle
Cradle Set in the aftermath of the Bronze Age collapse, you’ll guide your people through the challenges of rebuilding, expanding, and flourishing.
CRADLE is the first in a planned series, starting from the Bronze Age collapse and than expanding through the Medieval Age, Age of Discovery and Age of Energy.
Each age will introduce new core rules, mechanics and components.
We will introduce new regions and new civilizations that will offer an asymmetric gameplay.
For example, the first planned release starts with the Mediterranean – where control and trade are most important and where coastal settlements have most to gain, but are also more vulnerable.
Roman Empirial Cult
Colossus of Rhodes
Age of Discovery
Through the game you play cards, execute actions from those cards and most
importantly construct new settlements on the board. Each of those settlements will have one of 10 different specializations (military, science, culture, diplomacy, religion, economy, etc.)
Each settlement through its specialization is contributing differently to your civilization and will progress your civilization on the different tracks on the board.
As each of our games, we will utilize innovative game mechanics, never before seen in other board games, and Cradle is not an exception – delayed conflict resolution and city growth based on adjacent settlements. We will love to share more in our upcoming posts.
Little Ark
In Ark: Awakening, players explored an alien ecosystem—alive, mysterious, and full of secrets—on a forgotten starship drifting in space.
This short animated tribute honors that world: biodomes preserved in memory and beauty.
We took the images from the original Ark:Awakening and used AI to animate them!
Ark: Awakening is complex, so we had an idea to make a family friendly version of it for kids 10+. And we simplified a lot:
- 7 basic actions instead of 11
- simplified factions
- removed artifact, weapons, biodome upgrades and changed how combat works
- With Ark you had 12 active rooms with special powers, in Little Ark you just have 2 active
- We even have family friendly versions of the images
But the main elements of Ark remain:
- modular board,
- engine building (now simplified),
- 40 rooms to explore (each game only 2 are active),
- 8 factions,
- random missions
- and our unique boost placement mechanics.
Take care!
